Reportedly Comly will not get artics, except for 2 for training, until after the extended EL shutdowns are finished. The plan is to use as many artics as possible on the "non-stop" el shuttle buses and the deadhead time from Allegheny is much less than from Comly. The NFs were sent to Allegheny to help free up more artics for the shuttle bus service. Come the Fall the 65 will still operate out of Allegheny, however most runs are to be NFs with some peak hour runs/splits to be artics due to higher demand. This information from a SEPTA driver who's son attends my school.

5914 on block 5205 this morning and 5481 on block 5203. There was a NF on the 2:24 out of 69th St., but I missed the number. Block 5211 had 7167 this afternoon, which was delayed due to a wheelchair lift sticking.
Makes sense - that and the fact that the artics probably aren't needed on 14 until the fall crowds return. I was surprised that 27 has them now, but with school closed, even the midday runs on the current schedule can often be handled by 40' buses.

Speaking of which, I saw three consecutive runs on 27 this afternoon held down with 5900's. I'm wondering how they're making out on the hills.

27 got the same treatment when the Volvos were here - some runs were designated for artics, others were not. It was rare to see a Volvo out after the PM peak or on weekends.
