Since NJT used Cummins ISC on the Novabus RTSs and the ISC is a small TA engine and NJT is a major TA it wouldnt surprise me if they purchased Gilligs. Gillig historically has never bid on huge transit orders, citing their quality standards. At best, if they had gone after the NJT contract, you can bet they'd stretch the deliveries out over a 10-year period, lol And NJT has a historic aversion to low-floor buses, citing they do not meet their needs for seating capacity. With Gillig no longer making the Phantom, they would be out of the running for NJT anyway. Besides NABI, their other big option would be to go with OBI, which still offers the Orion V high-floor bus.
