As for the remaining of the 1984 Neo BMs & 1985 Neo CDs(8601-8697 & 8726-8850) within the City Transit Division, SEPTA may have retired & disposed the remaining units associated within these two groups at the end of the school year in 2002. I beleive that around June 14 or June 21, 2002, the remnants were retired & disposed of. By 2002, ALL of the Neo BM & CD suburbans were retired & gone.

I spotted 8705 & 8852(assigned to Southern) on the C, Cheltenham division, on Monday December 24, 2001 @ evening rush hour. They may have been the very last two of the Neo BM & CD suburbans to ever operate.

Southern had 8855 & 8856. Midvale had 8853 & 8854. Midvale let 8853 & 8854 go to the dogs.

In their heydays, when the 8800 surburbans were assigned to Frontier(8851-8860, 8865-8875), many of these buses could & would top 70 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, perhaps outdoing the Neo EZ suburbans at that time.
Not trying to rain on your parade, but I've vaguely remember any Neoplans going over 56 MPH on the expressways. There were however a few exceptional units which did went over 60 MPH, but generally they were govern to 55 MPH.
