After hiding out at Hamilton for awhile, NJT Flx Metro-B 3000 is back in revenue service. I rode it on the 403 on my way home.

The interior is quite a mixed bag. The seats from the front to the rear doors, plus the back seat are the original seats when the bus was first manufactured. The seats on the raised platform looks like a mixed bag of original and the seat fabric used when the seats were rehabbed a few years ago, I guess they cannabalized a few B's to put seats back in the bus and run it in revenue service. Also, the bus was stripped of its farebox, and a register in in place of the box.

I guess Washington Twp is short on serviceable Flxibles to drag this bus out of semi-retirement for service.

Wow, the original brought back to service. NJT MUST be facing hard times! I have a feeling that the first batch of the NJT NABIs won't completely wipe out the entire fleet of Metro Bs just yet.

3000 has been sitting in Washington twp over a year. The bus was mainly use as a wheelchair training bus for new drivers. The seats on the raised platform were taking out so that the area could be use as an in bus classroom. In the pass few weeks or so Washington twp decided to put the bus back in service do to the shortage of Metro B buses in the garage. At about 7:30 doing the hart of the morning rush there are no buses in the garage for pull out or breakdowns. So in other words Washington Twp is back in a corner with very little help. Plus we are getting a little heat from the big wigs in north jersey for having MCI's on the 400/403 lines.
