The Gilligs hybrids has the Cummins ISB/Allison E-Drive 1999 MCIs has the DD60/B500R6 2000 Gillig Advantage (101-107) - Cummins/Allison 5 speed 2008 Gillig Advantage - That's your job to find out ^_^ Most likely the Cummins ISL/M / Allison B-400R, the same as the 2006 buses.... Dart has an MCI hybrid? Thought those were straight diesels.... |

They do have diesel MCI Buses for 901-908, 909 and 911. Two of 2006 MCI Motor Buses are have hybrid Buses (912 and 913). Geraldo G. |

I do have the feeling the 2008 Gilligs will have ISL. But Im hoping that DART decides to get Voith instead of Allisons. I do suspect they will be allisons. I do like the way the ISL/Voith D864.3 sounds. Especially with CATs newest Gilligs. |

DARTs current fleet. 1995 Gillig Phantoms. Detroit Diesel Series 50/Allison B400R. 1996 Gillig Phantoms. Detroit Diesel Series 50/Allison B400R. 1999 Champion Contenders. Cummins ISB/Allison B300R. 1999 Gillig Advantages. Cummins ISl/Allison B400R. 2002 NABIs. 416 and 40LFW. Detroit Diesel Series 50/Allison B400R. Gillig Advantage hybrids. Cummins ISB. Either GM or Allison Hybridrive. 2006 Gillig Advantages. Cummins ISL/Allison B400R. 2008 Gillig Advantages. Cummins ISL/Allison B400R. I havent been able to see the Flxible Metros running but I am assuming they were Detroit Diesel 6V92TA with Allison V731 Transmissions. |

Those Flxibles were gone a LONG time ago... Also, GM and Allison were the same thing when the hybrids were delivered. I think GM just got rid of its Allison division. |

DART did run Flxible Metro Bs built in 1990. They were phased out in 2002 by NABI 416s and 40LFWs. I do alot of times wish the 2002 NABI order was 44 NABI 416s and 19 40LFWs instead of 19 416s and 44 40LFWs. Since I am not really all that fond of the LFW but I do like DARTs 416s as well as Gillig Advantages from 06 and 08. I would like the 40ft Phantoms but DART bought those with a 96" width in the mid 90s as many 40fts had a 102" width. |

UGH! The 2008 Gilligs (200 series) have B400Rs, NOT Voiths! What a disappointment to discover that when I went down to DE to check them out... I thought they 2008s and 2006s and 1999 Low Floors/Advantages had ISMs rather than ISLs. Also, some of DART's buses, like 107 and a NABI, are rather smoky, with a lot of dark smoke blowing out of the exhaust. Time to get the particulate filters changed! *cough cough*. |

I didnt think Cummins engines would blow out smoke from the exhaust. I know the Series 50 was commonly known at times to do so. And the 6V92 as well as the 6L71 do blow smoke from the exhaust. The 6L71 does smoke alot. Baltimore MTAs 9200s have blown more smoke then the 1987-1990 Flxibles. The 86 Flxibles did smoke alot at times. And maybe the 85s. Which all Flxibles older then 88 are no longer operating. Once the next bus delivery comes all Flxibles older then 94 will no longer be operating. |

DARTs 107 which is one of their 1999 Gillig Advantages have Cummins ISL/B400R. If I ran DART the 99-00 Gilligs would be Phantoms with Series 50/B400R. |

According to Wikipedia the ISL Diesel and Natural gas was invented in 1998 to replace the L10G. The L10 diesel was discontinued in 1994 and replaced by the M11 know known as the ISM. The ISL is 8.9 liters. The ISM is 10.8 liters. The L10 was exactly 10 liters. So the L10 is not the ISL. It did start to become popular in the early 2000s for some TAs but became more popular as the Series 50 was discontinued in 04 due to emissions standards. As for Gillig Advantages. Only the state of PA to my knowledge operates Gillig Advantages with Series 50. Pittsburgh Port Authority isnt the only one. BARTA of Reading. As well as CAT of Harrisburg operate 2004 Gillig Advantages with Detroit Diesel Series 50. BARTA has 2 of them. 0431-0432. And CAT owns 4 Gillig Advantages with Series 50. 2401-2404. And both TAs went to ISL after the Series 50 was discontinued.
