It wouldn't surprise me if the girl had earphones on, and didn't notice the lights and horn. Although the Fox Chase is short, the MAS is 50 with 562 Signalling. If the train was at speed, it still takes a good bit to stop at emergency.

THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T WALK THE TRACKS. ANYTIME ANYWHERE.

Incidents like this are exactly why its illegal for anyone to walk along a railroad track. With or without headphones on. Where I used to live in Baltimore many people walk along the Light Rail tracks to get to the station from the nearest side street. I used to do that as well but I once got spoken to by a Baltimore County police officer about doing that as they most times patrol the station to make sure no one is breaking the law.

I was just on the R8 Fox Chase line on Friday morning. As we were waiting for the train crew to open up for the trip to Center City, I looked down towards the Oxford Ave crossing, and some kid was riding his bike up between the rails. By the time we departed, he was sitting on the station siding, just past the switch. He was sitting on the rail, eating/drinking something. Amazing how stupid some people are. What would of happened if the next train was set to go onto the siding for any reason?
