redarrow and I were just talking about the delivery of the ex-NJT Comet 1s which will be arriving on Wednesday. NJT is supposed to hand them off to SEPTA at Trenton Station at 11:00 AM Wednesday 9/2/08. What are the best photo locations on the NEC or the Keystone Corridor? I'd like to catch it while its moving at a slower speed, so preferably at an interlocking or near a station.

Any ideas? Plus, would anyone like to join us?

It was suggested I go to one of the following for optimal photography.

Overbrook, Wynnewood, Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Strafford, Devon and Paoli

Well I'd say Ardmore is a better photograph point versus Overbrook.

Redarrow pointed out Overbrook because of the wifi accessibility ;)

Also, It was suggested Overbrook NOT be the choice of location by somebody else due to the interlocking plant. The interlocking "muffles" the sound of the approaching train caused by the CWR.

If they are coming from trenton most likey there will go to the 30th st. yard or roberts yard either way it will not go by overbrook or the rest of the R5 stations. Best bet to catch pics would probably been at north philadelphia station. Trains have 2 slow down to 15 to 20mph when gonna by unless they there are using the middle express track.

NJT sold SEPTA some Comet 1 cars. They will (eventually) be moving from the Meadowlands Maintenance Center (NJT MMC) to SEPTA's Frazer facility for a quick overhaul.
