Heh, it was a rite of passage for me when I was able to easily look up over the bottom edge of the window when I was little. That and being able to reach up for that cord at the top of the window! Those transit style seats were comfy (on the later Neos) because they had that tiny bit of padding that made it just right. They were MUCH better than the stainless steel stuff we got on the NABIs, artics, and Allison series New Flyers (outside of most of the hybrids). Man, I miss those buses...almost 8 months since the last time I rode one... :( |

I always liked the 3000-3485 set, but the 8285-8699 series door controls were on the right side which I thought was more convienent! |

8285-8875 had the door control buttons on the right hand side by the fare box. In total, SEPTA received 650 Neoplans between the first quarter of 1983 through the spring of 1985 that had this feature. |

Hopefully the Neoplan AN460 retires soon after the NABIs retires. ;) Hopefully we get the NOVABus LFSA Artics as SEPTA's next order after the DE41LF order is complete. ;) Edited by NYCBusfan1977, Jun 27 2009, 09:57 PM.

I meant they should retire in 2012 when they are 12 years old, since now a days buses are suppose to retire at age of 12. Alos I'm talking about SEPTA's. Edited by NYCBusfan1977, Jun 27 2009, 09:57 PM.

Everyone can calm down, we all know unless something drastic happens, Septa is getting New Flyer's to replace the Neoplans. Case closed. |

Well since SEPTA want more New Flyers then they will mostly likely get D60LF. |

For some reason, I can't imagine SEPTA getting 60 foot New Flyer artics. Do any of you think SEPTA will slowly begin to phase out the artics, increase scheduled headways on the busier routes & become an operation where all of their buses are 40 feet(41 feetfor the 2008, 2009 hybrids)? |
