as do i, i have ridden all of southern's AMG'S (800 -844) when i used to take the 79 (and on rare occasion the 29) to and from school. the traction motors hum, the abrupt power off and coast through the crossovers at 22nd and 23rd streets, the bumps and (route 23) trolley tracks at 11th and 12th streets... so routine i knew where the bus was with out loooking out a window just from the feel of the ride, acceleration and deceleration, and sounds.

another thing i remember is AMG 821 and 835 occasionaly had a different hum than the rest of the fleet. also, the buzzing whine when AMG waiting at a traffic light would power up and down before the traffic light changed to green

for those 4 years, my stalkers (AMG's ridden and/or saw the most) were 800,803,808,809,811,813,819,821,822,824,827,828,829,832,833,834,836,837,838,839,841,842,843 and 844

I remember the AMG's in their later days, my stalker was 806 (my current all electric stalker is 806 also :o )

Eek, that never happened to me... then again, I never rode any route besides the 66 as a trackless

Those pics were taken sometime between 1997 and 2003, the bottom one was definately taken after 1998 though.
Also, the pics (All three) Were taken Between Bridge Street and Wakeling Street on Frankford Avenue (FTC or as it was then: Bridge-Pratt... or as the AMG's said: Frankford-Bridge Elevated Station)

I heard that guy died.... but i still like them better than the E40's and a couple of Drivers at Frankford can back me up on this, but their reason is that with the AMGs, they didn't have to EPU, they'd just get buses.

that was one of the reasons why the AMG's were pulled out of service when they arrived. more than one driver was jolted by 600 volts as they were putting the poles up to the wires

I miss my AMGs. They were fun. I used to live on Wyoming Avenue, in the Logan Triangle and rode on them everyday! :)
