Are 141-150 local buses or are they Suburbans? Ive noticed that they do have a rear door on them and to my knowledge Gillig Advantage Suburbans only have 1 door with the forward facing seats elevated. So are the newest Gilligs transit or do they have the high back cushioned seats?

I've never known DART to purchase single door 40-ft buses that weren't MCI's (save for the BlueBirds from the old days), so I would highly doubt that the 141-150 series are single door buses. Then again, I'm not down in Delaware that much, so I couldn't really answer that question...

Harrisburg CAT always purchased buses with 2 doors but once their Suburban Gillig Advantages arrived they only have 1 door on them. And the transit Gilligs have 2 doors. And the Suburban Gillig Low Floors have the lower level seats elevated 1 step height after the handicapped seating. Then the upper level seats are elevated so the rear wheel well isnt taking up leg room in the back. Plus I do know 141-150 have 2 doors on them. But I wasnt sure if they are the Semi Suburban configuration or the transit configuration.

I must admit that I had to look back at the roster on this site to see what that group of buses was made up of. I haven't been to DE in a long time, since they were getting rid of the Phantoms. Didn't realize they purchased a total of 10 more hybrids.

I know the BRTs were purchased as extra buses for the 301, so I have no idea what the seating configuration would be. Maybe that would warrant a trip down to DE...would be something to look for.

141-150 more likely have the same seating arrangement as the local Gillig Low Floors except with high back cushioned passenger seats and maybe luggage racks on the interior.

I don't think 141 to 148 are suburban style coaches, though. Why do you think they have suburban seats? Transit bus seats do come with higher backs nowadays.

It was mentioned earlier that DART was getting 10 new Gilligs for the 301. So I thought 141-148 were Suburban also. But they must be 8 Gilligs to replace 8 of the Phantoms for local use but last time I was in Wilmington I did not see 141-148 in service. I did see 149-150 inside the DART base. And they do have rear doors. As well as frameless tip in windows. I wish 115, 141-148, and 201-290 were BRTs instead of the Advantage. Since the BRT is a restyled design and the standard Advantage is overdue for a restyled design.

I wish DART purchased those buses with frameless windows. They would look so good! I hear the BRT option is rather expensive.

I even wish DART got their newest Diesel Gilligs with Voith Transmissions instead of Allison B400R.

I am right there with you, my friend. It sure would have made the fleet a bit more interesting.

I must admit that Gillig Low Floors do sound great with the ISL/B400 combo, though.

I just added a couple of photos of hybrid #148 at Concord Mall that I took yesterday. Not the best pics, but they're a start.

FWIW, there were a couple of 141-150 series hybrids that were operating on the #2 yesterday that I saw running up and down Concord Pike.
