The 2 may be better suited as a candidate to go entirely to Southern. In PTC days, the 2 was a car line, & Southern had the whole route(until november 1956).

Th 3 was split between Allegheny & Frankford. I don't know what happened with that.

The 5 USED to be split between Frankford & Southern, as late as 2006.

The 7 USED to be split between Allegheny & Southern. On Sundays & holidays, when the 7 was assigned to Allegheny, all trips originated & terminated @ 27th & Allegheny Avenue.

The 18 USED to be split between Midvale & Frankford, until February 1998, when the 39 came over to Midvale from Allegheny.

The 26 was an all Luzerne line during PTC days as a streetcar line. In January 1956, the 26 went bus & as time progressed, Germantown & Frankford depot picked up the work(used to be the S/26 combo to Fox Chase or Harbison Avenue).

No one really wanted the 26 in those years & no one wants the 26 as of late.

The 39 & 89 are fine as they are. I think the 54 should be split between Midvale & Allegheny, for until the early 1990s, the 54 was operated by Luzerne personnel(in part, if not entirely). The same may hold true for the 33.

At this point, many veteran operators are shying away from the 56. The Torresdale Avenue segment of the line from the El to Cottman has seen better days. From Broad & Erie east to perhaps G & Erie(Coca Cola Plant), new rail was laid along with new concrete between 1989 to 1991.ot even a year later, we said bye bye to the PCCs on the 56.

The G & 64 were split between Callowhill & Southern, until several years ago, with the elimination of the 63 & re- routing of the 64 onto Washington Avenue from end to end.

Years ago, the K was split between Germantown & Frankford. In the early 1960s, Comly had the line & the K took a different routing, for it did not serve Germantown, as it does today.

Th R, at one time, was indeed split between Frankford, Luzerne & Allegheny.

As you stated, this is nothing new to you. I agree with your concepts. I would like to see many of them implemented, particularly with the G & 64.

Well I think the R should be split with Allegheny once again to put artics on the route, the same goes for the 1 it should be split with Allegheny (with artics on the run), Callowhill, and Frankford. Now the 7 should be split with Midvale instead of Allegheny because they do not have enough 40 foot buses for that run and plus an artic will not suit the run either. What about spliting the 64 with Allegheny (to put artics on the route), Callowhill, Midvale and Southern? Now the K should be split with Frankford and Midvale instead of Allegheny the same goes for the J, the 9 split with Allegheny, Callowhill, Comly, Frankford, Midvale, and Southern, the 27 should be split with Allegheny, Callowhill, Comly, Frankford, Frontier, Midvale and Southern, same goes for the 32 it could be split with Allegheny, Callowhill, Comly, Frankford, Midvale and Southern. The 14 should be split with Allegheny, Comly, Frankford and Frontier with both Allegheny and Comly providing the Neoplan artics of course. The Route L should be split between Allegheny, Comly, Frankford, Frontier and Midvale, the 6 should be split with Allegheny and Midvale. Split the 18 with Allegheny and Midvale, split the 22 with Allegheny, Midvale and Frontier, and split the 55 with Allegheny, Midvale and Frontier.

WHAT?!?!?!?

All of that makes no sense we trying to think of ways to get deadheading down but instead it seems you want to create more for a routes cause you see artics on them. Every route doesn't need artics, just run them more frequently. The 7 can run artics on them but the problem is in south philly all you in is one person who don't know how to park and the whole line will be screw(23rd st.). 22nd is wide enough. But service on the 7 is funny and doesn't need a artic on a full run. I don't we will ever see a day when SEPTA will split a route with 5 or 6 depots. Maybe 3 for something long like the 1 or R.

Looks like someone beat be to starting a thread like this. The 1 SHOULD be part- Callowhill just for deadheading's sake. I'll post my total idea list later. I also plan to update my dream roster with it.

Not entirely sure why someone would quote it nor why someone bothered to waste time to type in every SEPTA route.
