Rabbit Transit had a Gillig Phantom to the Rabbit Express fleet. 404. Which is technically a local Gillig. However. Rabbit Transit repainted that bus to 214. Which was suppose to be the original number but since it arrived late they decided to renumber 214 as 404 but now that Rabbit Transit has enough coaches for the Rabbit Express they repainted 404 to the red background and numbered it back to 214. So now that bus runs local runs. |

Its a 2006 Gillig Phantom 30102. So its 3 years old. And Rabbit Transit runs in York County PA. |

So no more Gillig for the Rabbit Express fleet. At first I thought 213 was repainted to 404 until I saw 213 after noticing 404. So then I was wondering where did 404 come from. My guess had always been 214 was repainted to 404 after it arrived to York. But know I know for a fact it was since 404 was renumbered back to 214. And of course all 2006 Gillig Phantoms were retrofitted with non power door side mirrors. |

Here's a question just for you, What ever happened to the three Ex-SEPTA Neoplans which Rabbit has received back in 2006? |

Im not too sure. I havent seen them in the base lately. So its possible they no longer operate those buses. And from what I read the service they were used for was a route that only operated 18 months. So I dont know for sure. I do know Rabbit Transit still has a 40ft Gillig Advantage built in 1996 but that bus only operates on weekdays on the mall route. And from what I heard from an operator of Rabbit Transit they are due for new 35ft buses. But I havent heard more about it. My suspicion is that Rabbit Transit will be getting new Gillig Advantage 35102s as their next purchase. |

OFF TOPIC! Lol, j/k. :P But the ex SEPTA Neoplans are retired. They were actually offered on ebay some time back, not long before the last of our Neos were retired. Remember, those Neos were purchased specifically for one of the Hospital Shuttles (the other one used 30 foot Orion Is) as the Hospital Parking lot was under construction. Now, it's over, so bye bye Neos. But the Neos over there ran really badly, though :(. |

Why are they due for new 35 foot buses? Their Phantoms are quite young! |

It is possible they may be replacing the remaining Orion Is that are in service. Or they may be adding to the fleet. Right now Rabbit Transit has 2 Orion Is left in service. It would have been 3 but one had to be removed due to an accident involving a dump truck. Or they might be demoeing hybrids. Im not sure. But anyway to get back on subject. I believe the highest number I saw with the Rabbit Express fleet is 412. Looks to be a later model MCI D4500 but at least 5 years old maybe older. And so far the Rabbit Express fleet consists of 401-403 which are Cutaways. 405 which is a MCI EL3. 406 which I believe is the J4500. As well as 407-410 which are early 90s MCI D Series coaches. And I suspect 411 may be the 2007 commuter coach. And 412 which looks to be built somewhere in the late 90s early to mid 2000s. 404. I dont know what will happen with that number since the original 404 was repainted in red and numbered back to 214.
