Derived from http://philadelphiatransitforums.cjb.net/topic/7109145/1/

Which depot do you think will cover the 72?

And for those of you who think it will be a simple answer think agian. Don't just say Frankford Because it touches Frankford TC/Depot.........

I'd call it a Comly route.

If the route is approved, then it will likely be a Frankford route. It makes no sense to have a split depot operation.

This is SEPTA. Remember, the only logic is that there is no logic.

Based on that illogical logic, the 72 will be 100% Midvale! ;)

They need to re-evaluate the routing structure of the 72. It will lose time along Adams Avenue by Riasing Sun,a s well as Crescentville Road(Chetenham east, Crescentville south, Adams east, under the R8 bridge). That traffic is unbearable.

It will be a Midvale route. The Frankford & Comly operators really don't want any part of anything that runs into Midvale territory. At Comly, the operators with more time shy away from the 70 @ all costs. They'll take the 14 in a heartbeat,& so would I.

@ Frankford, the operators with more time will work the J, K & R during the am off peak periods. These operators would probably work an evening block on the 3 or 5 if need be.

The 72 is in the plans SEPTA posted in their buses. And a change to route 89.

From SEPTA's 2010 plan.

Recommended Projects
City Transit Division
• A Route deviation on Route 89
• New Route 72 from Frankford Transportation Center to Cedarbrook Plaza via
Cheltenham Avenue

Has it been settled which district the 72 will operate from?

The hearings have already been held and the SEPTA Board voted on this last month; the 72 is on hold pending additional community feedback.

No, I think the 72 would be successful. There's a need for a bus route in that corridor...there has been such a need for quite some time. The big thing is funding, which SEPTA needs to be careful of. Once Act 44 goes into place, and they can come up with a decent schedule/routing for the route, it'll come out, likely running out of Midvale in my opinion.

It's on hold until further notice.

Given the limited service hours proposed, I honestly feel that route would crash and burn. While it would be mostly good for seniors, they don't contribute additional needed revenue. Either rush hour only service to start, or at least a full weekday schedule, then add service as demand warrants....
