It only says for one day. maybe the trackless can sneak in the loop on EPU while the restroom is installed. or at least part of the time.

They were going to try to bus the 59 for this construction, but Frankford does not have enough buses. So they will only bus the one late run on the 59.

So we'll have more than a month of pulling poles and re-poling at Bell's Corner for our trackless operators, and winter is coming.

The operators are pulling poles at Bell's Corner in the rain today. This is more than annoying. And for over a month?
SEPTA would like to bus the 59, but they are really short on buses. Bring back the NABI's????

I don't see any detour at this moment for the 59. Did they all of the sudden bus the line?

SEPTA was going to replace the bathroom at Bells Corner. They cut the trackless wires, now the bathroom is delayed indefinitely. Does the right hand know what the left is doing?

They had trouble lifting the modular structure onto the truck. The joists were bending.
Something was mis-engineered. As a former draftsman /designer I can imagine what is happening.
They say this will be a 2 to 3 week delay.
So the trackless operators will have an annoying time up there for a long while.

Why did SEPTA retired the majority of the NABI fleet in the 5000 series? Didn't they take these things into account.

They're always crying bus shortages.

Why is there no detour listed for the 59 Trackless? The operators are pulling the poles at Hoffnagle and re-poling outside the loop on Castor Ave.

Kinda off topic, but: Wait till Southern's bricks (aka all the bricks) are gone suddenly. Then what will drivers do for the SS Shuttles? LOL either they will train with Hybrids or they will whine and...

I got the 59 operator to put this sign up. (My 104 driver already had it), so on any bus if you scrolled to the bottom of the AMDT it was there. It alternated with the Route/Destination.

They are putting up new line poles at Bells corner.
The new bathroom is still being worked on in Reading.

It's a pain without the wires in the loop.
Here's the wires starting on Castor Ave.

Here's something unusual.
Ritchie, the operator of 59-2001 drove coach #800 on Nov. 2, 9,10, & 11. So the day before the strike and now for 3 days in a row.

Just got news that the new Bells Corner restroom will arrive this Wednesday, 11/18/09.
This will involved closing the loop while it's being installed. The detour planned is North on Castor , Left on Hoffnagle, Right on Loretto, Right on Fox Chase rd., Right on Castor, layover by the school.

They pull the poles anyway so it's a few extra blocks instead of using the loop. After the restroom is installed they will probably restring the loop wires, but only one set is going back up, no more passing wires.
