I Think SEPTA should order D30LF or D35LF to replace all the remaining small buses like: El Dorado Transmark RE-29,2004 Champion Defender, and 1999 Coach & Equipment Phoenix expect for 2007 Champion Challenger .
;)
The 2007 Champion Challenger can stay.
The fords has been retired from active service ever since they pulled Champions out of service from Frontier.

You know, so that Frontier can dispose of all of their Champions & get rid of most of their Eldorados, maybe SEPTA ought to send at least 60 of the 2009 New Flyer hybrid batch(coming from the "Obama Stimulus Money" or "Obama Buses") up to Frontier.

It just dawned on me: Frontier can't wait that long.

In fact, here are a few suggestions:

A. Sell all of the Champions & most of the Eldorados.

B. Keep 10 Eldorados for the 92, 128 & the 132.

C. Routes, like the 90, would become re-consolodated into the 97(which is of course, 40 footers, right)?

I am glad to see ridership patterns go up to the point where 40 footers once again become the norm as opposed to the exception.
What benefit would you get from this? Please keep those blasted slowbrids out of our depot - nobody likes them except some of the SEPTA fans and maybe some passengers. And that's when they work properly...

And the 97 isn't necessarily a 100% 40ft bus route. Besides, there's a reason why the 90 was created. With all due respect, your logic doesn't make sense except for the fact that for some reason, you hate small buses.

I almost agree, except I would rather not see more SEPTA New Flyers come in immediately without a good product from another manufacturer. With the Dorados and Defenders reaching retirement age at the same time (2011), I thought SEPTA was going to do just that.

I do not like the small buses at all, & I don't like they way SEPTA "toyed" around with Frontier division & their routes over the years, & the splitting up of the 96, 97 & 99 come to mind.

I didn't care for the 1300s that Frontier division had either.
