Does SEPTA Regional Rail share tracks with any freight services? I know some commuter rail lines do and that throws them off schedule. And I know the R2, R5, and R7 share the tracks with Amtrak. But do they share any tracks with CSX?

They operate on the R1,2,3,5 and 8 north of Wayne Junction at night only.

Additionally, the CSX shares tracks with the R6 as well in Norristown for access to the Reading Main Line.

I wonder where that train heads to/from "eastbound". Do those tracks connect with the Trenton Cutoff?

CSX trains go up the old Stony creek line to Lansdale. This is only done when they have cars that are to tall to run via Wayne JCT.

MARCs Camden lines train 849 was delayed today at Dorsey Station due to freight congestion. Which is why I never ride the Camden line. Either the Penn Line or the Amtrak NEC from Baltimore to Washington. Since the Penn line only shares the tracks with the Amtrak NEC and both are passenger trains.

Along the R5 near Lansdale and R3 near Woodbourne. Many youtube videos show Septa and freight trains.

Freight shares the same RoW with Commuter Rail at:

Between Newtown Junction and (the former junction at) Cheltenham Station

Between Wayne Junction and Lansdale (via Blue Line Connector from the CSX Trenton Line)

*Note - Freight locals also travel from Lansdale to Warminster via Glenside to switch out local industries.
*Note 2 - In RARE occasions, locomotives are sent from Lansdale to/from Woodbourne Yard via Jenkintown and the West Trenton branch.

Between Neshaminy Falls and West Trenton (CSX Trenton Line)

Near Norristown T.C. To/From NS Morrisville Connecting Track and CP Ford

and To/From the CSX Stony Creek Branch between Norristown/Lansdale

Can't forget about Amtrak and the NEC, can we?
CSAO FJ-10 working the NEC north of Frankford Junction
http://www.trainweb.org/phillynrhs/RPOTW090222.html

Plus, as a bonus, heres when Conrail shared (for a short time) THEIR tracks with SEPTA.

Did I forget anything? Freight will also (very rarely) run on the Harrisburg line via Philly (if there is something blocking the NS line). Theres also freight south of 30th street on the NEC. There's freight that runs on the R1 from PHIL interlocking to the Chester Secondary.. That's all I can think of, for now.

Its actually from CP 60th Street South (the second set of signals S of the merge) to CP 90th Street North (before the viaduct). While anyone can use 90th, 60th's crossovers are not wired up.

And NS runs through NTC as well, since it's the route from the Morrisville Line (former Trenton Cut-off) via a connection at Ford interlocking just south of NTC to the Harrisburg Line at Abrams Yard. CSX Q190 and Q191 use that routing as well.

And of course, the R3 shares with CSX between CP-Wood and West Trenton. While CSX actually owns the track, and is responsible for track and signal maintenance, SEPTA dispatches it, and is responsible for catenary maintenance.
