Wait Wait Wait Wait A Minute Van2006ko updated the Rosters with Allegheny now having "2009 New Flyer DE41LF (43) 8280-8321,8323" Does anyone know how many more Hybrids Allegheny are getting? They definitely shouldn't get the rest of the 09 Batch. (But you never know with Septa, They might as well get the whole batch.) ( Even though Septa still has the 2010 & 2011 batch, why does Septa want to retire NABIs as fast as they can and Allegheny don't even have NABIs.) They had a sufficient amount of Flyers on the 9 & 27 which was about 30 D40LFs before they received Hybrids. The Real Question is "Why would they send more Hybrids to Allegheny?" The only answer I have to this is that they might also lose some Neo Artics (Depending how many more Hybrids they get) along with their D40LFs in the process . |

Well I'll leave you guys up to all of the assumptions. It doesn't really matter where they go, they suck and are extremely bland. |

The hybrids are great (to me), you just need a fast bus and great driver, like I had when I rode the 14. |

If Allegheny operates the 27 I rode 8305 on that route to and from Plymouth Meeting mall. It was a nice ride. Except the coach was slow going up hills. And now that I think about it the old style New Flyer isnt all that bad. Even though I do wish SEPTA had LFRs instead of LFs with this order. |

I spotted 8321 on the 65 too, with a NOT IN SERVICE/SEPTA/TAKE NEXT BUS on the destination signage. I also spotted 8318 coming off of Henry Avenue approaching Walnut Lane. I've never had an opportunity to ride on one of these hybrids. They bore me. I love the sound of a ZFer going 60mph. A ZFer on the 93 to Pottstown on a weeknight, now that's a bus ride. |

You can't really make any opinion on them if you never ridden on them. The ones on the fast settings are nice to listen too.... |

Oh yeah, now you're talking. Those in a ZFer on the 27 to Plymouth Meeting Mall on a weeknight - that was a bus ride as well. No wonder I'm more than slightly disappointed that that ZFers were ousted in favor of these slowbrids - just as I was starting to accept the use of 40 footers on the 27 with those wonderful ZFers, they replace them with buses I detest... Don't worry, you aren't missing much with the slowbrids. I have yet to ride the 2009 series, despite the fact that two local depots (Allegheny and Midvale) have them....thank goodness! |

SEPTA will one year be an all hybrid TA. And they are not alone. Baltimore MTA is in the process of changing out their entire fleet to hybrids within the next 10 years. And I do hope my next car I buy after Im done with this one is a hybrid. |

As reported elsewhere, 8323 was at Frankford recently. Today it's back at Allegheny, on the 9 earlier this evening (saw it at 6th & Walnut at 5:20). |

Now, I'm really confused... That still doesn't explain what 8323 was doing at Frankford in the first place, but then again, this is SEPTA... |

Same reason as 8312 and 8172, they were both there to train operators. |

That's what I suspected... Considering the strange things SEPTA can do from time to time, it's just that nothing surprises me anymore... |
