i dont know how many of you read the inquirer on sunday's but today's one had a pretty interesting article in it. basically this editor talks about having a park on the viaduct similar to New York's High Line. service ended in '84 (what is it with septa and the 80's?? they took so many steps back) and "what remains is a half mile of disused urban space, 4.5 acres of possible parkland." skimming through the article in 2003 a city funded report estimated that it'd cost between 35-51 million dollars to tear it down. making it into a park would cost 5 million bucks. and also there are talks of connecting to the convention center and chinatown.

its a good read but i have one really big problem. the connecting back to the convention center aint working for me. other then that this park thing could happen.

I don't think the Convention Center connection is going to happen. The exhibit halls don't really have the means for access control in the rear of the halls...

Are you referring to the Reading Viaduct where trains used to pull into Reading Terminal?
