Wil-cp Tours, operator of the Park Towne Place apartment shuttle, has acquired an ex-Pittsburgh (Port Authority) NovaBus Classic for that run. The Classic is still in Port Authority's "classic" white/red/black with the letters "Pa" removed from the "PaTransit" logo & the fleet number changed to 1117. Original # unknown (unless someone can spot one in the interior of the bus). However, since the destination sign is frozen on "TO HARMAR GARAGE", we can presume that this Classic was last assigned there while at Port Authority. The Classic is working the Park Towne Place shuttle this morning (Tuesday, 9/1/09). |

This outfit didn't waste much time getting rid of that WMATA Flx (if that's the case). If this is the same company I'm thinking of, they also have an ex-CT Transit D40HF (which I thought was numbered 1117, but I could be wrong). |

Hopefully they retained that Flx. After all, it's the only bus that's actually wrapped for Park Towne Place. I haven't seen the blue Thomas Saf-T-Liner for some time. It's been around for a while, though - ever since June of 2007. Here's a picture of my first photograph of the bus, not long after the first time I saw it: Posted Image |

Nice shot. Lol, to Harmar Garage big and clear. It's too bad they don't have the tech/interest to change it, although they did figure out how to change the sign on the D40. I wonder why that D40 went so quickly. Guess it wasn't well maintained in Connecticut before it came down here? |

If Parktowne Place does update the signs most likely the way it will happen is either take out the destination signs and use non electronic signs. Or replace them with the orange LED destination signs. Rabbit Transit purchased an ex Gillig Advantage Demo bus Gillig manufactured to demo the Advantage. And before that bus hit the streets of York the signs were replaced with the orange LED signs. |

Considering that the only purprose for these buses is to operate as a shuttle for a single apartment complex, why would you need new LED signs? If this company has other contracts in the region that I'm not aware of, then LED signs would make sense. Otherwise, not so much... |

Well, the card is sufficient, and like trabs said, they never did/ had a reason to replace the sign before...: Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image The ex WMATA Flx is the only exception, where they covered the sign. Posted Image |

I never knew Parktowne had an ex RRTA Flxible. I wonder if they would ever get an ex CAT RTS or Gillig. Or even an ex Rabbit Transit Orion. Or even an ex BARTA Orion or Gillig Phantom. I hope NEVER an ex Bmore MTA Flxible or DART Gillig Phantom. Those 2 dont overhaul their fleet. I think that New Flyer may have been Connecticut Transit. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wally_wabbit/2035836747/ Looking at the colors of this Novabus compared to that New Flyer D40HF it looks like the D40HF is Connecticut Transit colors. So chances are its an Ex Connecticut Transit New Flyer. So you can actually tell which TA originally owned which coach if you know the TAs colors real well. I wonder if Parktowne would consider an ex SEPTA NABI. Or even an ex NYCMTA RTS or Orion. Or even an ex NJT Flxible. Edited by Nabi60SFW9620, Sep 11 2009, 08:33 AM.
