I guess the timing was a little off with the Flxibles (although it would have been great to have a Metro E running around here!).

I'm glad we now have a classic in the Philadelphia area. Between that and the WMATA L10/Voith Flx, they have a nice fleet!

That classic looks really good, though. Much better than the D40 ever did.

I never knew Parktowne had an ex RRTA Flxible. I wonder if they would ever get an ex CAT RTS or Gillig. Or even an ex Rabbit Transit Orion. Or even an ex BARTA Orion or Gillig Phantom. I hope NEVER an ex Bmore MTA Flxible or DART Gillig Phantom. Those 2 dont overhaul their fleet. I think that New Flyer may have been Connecticut Transit.

Looking at the colors of this Novabus compared to that New Flyer D40HF it looks like the D40HF is Connecticut Transit colors. So chances are its an Ex Connecticut Transit New Flyer. So you can actually tell which TA originally owned which coach if you know the TAs colors real well. I wonder if Parktowne would consider an ex SEPTA NABI. Or even an ex NYCMTA RTS or Orion. Or even an ex NJT Flxible.
Having worked on 20th St. along the Park Towne Place shuttle route for nearly 17 years, it seems like the operator (Wil-co or whomever ran the run before them) basically used a different bus for that run every year for a while. The earliest bus I remember on that line (back in the mid 1990s) was a good-looking maroon GM fishbowl. (At that time, I believe that Park Towne ran the service itself.) Meanwhile, "The Philadelphian" was also going through buses like crazy before 76 Carriage took over their run a couple years ago with the current blue suburban Gillig LF.

Between the two operations, I've seen everything from an ex-NJDOT/NJT suburban Flxible New Look, to RTSes from DART, Queens Surface, NYCT, & RGRTA (Rochester, NY), to the light-duty Thomas in that awful faded blue, to Flxible Metros from GRTC (Richmond, VA), RRTA, & WMATA.

The RRTA Flx was used just before Wil-co bought the current WMATA Flx. The New Flyer D40HF was indeed ex-CT Transit, from their Hartford division. Wil-co repainted the sides to remove the yellow stripe, but kept the original livery in the front. Both that D40HF & the WMATA Flx still have their original fleet numbers on their roofs.

I don't recall ever seeing any Orions (any version) or Gillig Phantoms on the Park Towne or Philadelphian runs.
