Sure there is! People need to get places faster, and in the Northeast, you would think we'd have trains going that fast with our need for speed.

Well built high speed trains lines are actually very safe.

Do you realize the distance which TGV high speed rail covers right? I can see the need for a 500 Km/h need considering its a nice cheap alternative to the plane, and way faster then the bus!!

It WILL NOT work for SEPTA's immediate area because if it is to go full speed, then coming to a stop will take 17 miles of track. It might work as a nonstop express ride from Philly to Pittsburgh, and Jayayess1190 could enjoy a 1 hour ride to and from Philly.
