Somebody told me they may bring The Welcome Line back. Quite a few years ago, they ran those trolleys on 11th & 12th from Bainbridge to Noble. If they bring it back,it would be extended to the Zoo.

I would think the trolleys would come out of Callowhill. What they would use, I don't know. We are kind of short on trolleys right now.

I will try to to find out more on this.

The original route(aka route 51), went from Bainbridge to the zoo via 11th and 12th.

Although I am completely for it, I have two issues:

1) With what equipment? The existing cars SEPTA had was shipped back to their respective owners several years ago, and all are in need of a little TLC before they are able to be street worthy.

2) The sheer amount of trackwork. Noble Street needs repair, both of the 12th Street facing points need replacement (Bainbridge and Snyder), about 1000 feet of track on 11th need serious replacement (Locust to Race), power distribution needs to be checked. The list is enormous.
