Fox 29 showing a R5 train on fire near the Overbrook maintenance facility. First car is engulfed in flames. Appears to be a S II. Train has been evacuated.

I think if they really need to they can always see if NJT will send some of their Arrow 3s to SEPTA and SEPTA can rename them Silverliner IVs. Since the Arrow 3 is the same exact model as the Silverliner 4 except for the center door.

They are similar, but are far from exact models.

Besides, NJT needs every railcar they can get as well!

From what I'm hearing, the TWU mechanics at Red Arrow was blocking both the bus driveway and the yard track for the Media-Sharon Hill in the Morning shutting down the 101 and 102, and forcing dispatchers to request School Buses because whatever was left in the yard was trapped until the morning trippers started to pull in just to get diverted.

I just learned about today when I got home from school after one of my family member told me this morning incident that during rush hour, one of the trains on R5 Thorndale that is around overbrook or so was caught on fire and luckily all passengers escaped from the train. When I was on the computer and look at the news for further information about it, I just learned that it was the Silverliner II which was completely burned and destroyed by the fire. As a result of it, I'm guessing that railcar (and I'm not sure about status of the other cars) will be retired and scrapped because of the aftermath of it.

Speaking of riding the R5 Thorndale Line, I had been riding it for twelve years and there was none of those things I've seen. I can't believe this has incident has happen today.

Saw it this morning on WPVI. There was fire literally dripping from the window seams.
